We started off with our daily question that I got from "Making Learning Fun". We talked about the results of this question.
I introduced our snowman theme with the book, "Frosty the Snowman". I read it the first time and then I sang it.
We then watched "Frosty the Snowman Part 1". The children were intrigued as most of them had never seen Frosty before.
Then the fun began... we tried to build a snowman. We had a few little piles of snow (more like ice than snow) left from the big storm we had last week... so I thought we'd give it a try. It didn't work out like I'd wanted it to but we still had fun trying. Here we are working on our masterpieces...
Well they look like melting snowmen... but it was very warm in our daycare room!!!
We then made cotton ball snowmen from a pattern over at childcareland.com which you can find here.
Five little snowmen standing in a row,
Each with a hat and a big red bow.
Five little snowmen dressed for a show
Now they are ready, where will they go?
Wait till the sun shines. Then they will go,
Down through the fields with the melting snow.
And we made Five Little Snowmen
Stay tuned for more of our Snowman Theme!!!
Best,
Rose
Five Little Snowmen is such a fun activity for the kids. I'm an independent consultant for a popular book company and would love for you to check out the books we offer at my website: www.d4122.myubam.com. These books are perfect for educating children, teaching good morals, getting them excited about reading, and for helping to promote literacy to our future generations. ReplyDeleteI had a little baby boy a few months ago and I am now having to go back to work. I need to see what my options are with daycare and want to find a place where he will be watched over and well taken care of. I also want to find a daycare that has some fun preschool like activities for my almost 3 year old. How much do you charge and what type of care will be provided for my infant?

DeleteNice post!!
ReplyDeleteMaking a snowman in the kindergarten is a great fun itself. I don’t remember my kindergarten days but my parents tell that I went to a popular Phoenix kindergarten and singing and making paintings were my favorite activities at that time.
ReplyDeleteGreat work, love the way how you taught to make a snowman. Keep the good work going.Well done.Keep Updating.

My sister and brother in law have twins that are old enough to start going to a daycare. They aren't sure what to look for in a good day care and want to make sure that they are sending their sons to a good place that will do a good job. This has some good insights that I think could really help them figure out what to look for.

Lovely snow men they all are created. Making fun, creating and exercising these kind of ideas nurtures the psychology of the children perfectly. Through the snow en puppets, their creativity is being utilized in a perfect way. Love the snow men although they are melting ;)
ReplyDeleteAnother good photo blog with the masters in action. I like the children learning while the are playing which utilizes their creativity to make them more future ready. Preschools and daycare services should practice to teach the children through playing like this example.
ReplyDeleteI must say this is a great activity. I like the way they built the snowmen. Happy to see that daycare centers are involving kids in these kind of activities where learning is fun and children are enjoying. I have visited some daycare schools in Brooklyn while I was there and amazed to see the way they teach children with the creative activities.

ReplyDeleteThere are numerous focal points while considering childcare. There is a childcare for each kid, for instance kids with incapacities, ailments, social issues, and so on. See there are clear charming standards in childcare. For example, the pickup times and the drop-off times.
ReplyDeleteI like how you found so many theme-based to do. I'm glad you incorporated reading, because I think it's important for even young children. My three year old daughter really loves story time at her childcare center. We now have a routine of visiting the library so that she can have story time at home too.
ReplyDeleteHello! I simply wish to give you a big thumbs up for the excellent info you have here on this post. I will be coming back to your website for more soon.
